Miriel's Safe Space Training Demo

Join our Mascot Miriel in our underwater classroom to brush up on your LGBTQIA+ awareness and knowledge. This isn't just a training for allies- during in person trainings, most people have said they learn something new about the community or themselves! We don't have a lot of space in society to talk about these topics, and Miriel's classroom is a safe place to learn and explore. Based on the Safe Zone Project training, this game examines prejudice, assumptions, and privilege in a cozy environment with reflective exercises, interactive worksheets, written experiences from past students, and calming mindfulness activities. 

In this demo

Lessons 1-3, final character sprites, draft mindfulness activities, and 2D art assets, all lovingly crafted by a team of trans and nonbinary creators. 

Future Improvements

With support our team can: fix the notepad cursor (curses!), complete custom tile sets for backgrounds, add animation assets, make custom music, replace remaining stand-in art assets, implement energy meter, create more mindful activities (more plants!), add more notes from previous students, and curate further lessons such as how to create safe spaces.
